The department consists of two divisions including "History of Mathematics and Natural Science" and "History of Technology and Scientific Instruments". History of Mathematics and Natural Science Division purposes the stages of the scientific activity, experiences and theories, the principles and methods on which it is based and aims to describe these achievements. It also aims to develop an awareness about the historical development of science, its nature, method and what kind of an activity it is. History of Technology and Scientific Instruments Division examines the invention, change and development processes of the tools used in the applications of technology and sciences within the framework of the social, cultural, political, economic and intellectual conditions.
