Member of McGill University Professor Jamil Ragep made a presentation on "Historiography of the History of Science" in the zoom webinar platform on 24 March 2021 within our event named "History of Science Nights". He has written extensively on the history of science in Islam and on the transmission of science between cultures. Especially, his researches on the ways in which Nasiruddin Tûsî, İbn Şâtır and Ali Kuşcu's astronomy studies were transferred to Europe in the pre-modern period showed the effects and the sources of the emergence of Copernican astronomy. Thus, in our program, he discoursed as an academician who point out descredit and ignorance of achivements in the late medieval Islamic science and propose a new approach to traditional and common historiography in the context of transition to modern astronomy and scientific revoulation by emphasizing post-Gazali scholars in Islamic world.
