On 14-15 December 2017, our department hosted an international workshop on science teaching in B202 Class of our faculty. Fifteen academicians, sixs of which are from different countries, participated in this workshop titled “Science Teaching in Transition During the 18th and 19th Century in Islamic World". In the workshop, how the developing modern science in the West responded in Islamic countries, whether the state and scientific institutions went through a process of harmonization, and what kind of results modern science education had in these two centuries were examined. During the workshop, it was examined science teaching not only in Ottomans but also in Iran and Japanese. Thus, the workshop pioneered the planning of cooperation among academics and produced results that will enable the examination of science education in the twentieth century.
